MADNESS!
This summer's ROBOTICS campers were treated to a full week packed
with fun, excitement, and learning about engineering basics and
problem solving. Each of the 2 weeks campers faced the challenge
of drawing and designing their own robot based on the tasks it performed.
Some robots were created to be personal basketball coaches, personal
assistants, elderly caretakers, or pet sitters.
Next, the campers turned their robots into 3D using Google
Sketch Up and Doga software. They also
got to design their own robot game character and try out some simple
programming with their own video game in Scratch.
For a more tactile experience in 3D, campers used Lego
Mindstorms and PicoCrickets to build robots
and raced them for a best time.
The week culminated with the building of a remote-controlled VEX
Robot and a soccer match.
