2018 Gold Crown Enrichment Summer Camps

All Camps are held Monday – Friday 9am – 12pm and are available for youth ages 12 – 18

July 16th – 20th

Location: Gold Crown Clubhouse @ Edgewater, 2501 Chase St, Edgewater

Join us for this year’s Raspberry Pi Summer Workshop! Gold Crown Enrichment in partnership with Regis University is offering a week-long Raspberry Pi workshop for youth ages 12-18. This workshop will run Monday, July 16th thru Friday, July 20th and will take place at The Gold Crown Clubhouse in Edgewater (2501 Chase St). Raspberry Pi is a fully functional computer about the size of a deck of cards that has become the brains behind a multitude of DIY projects. This $35 computer was designed to introduce the Raspberry Pi foundation to teach basic computer science in schools and developing countries. Since its release in 2006, the Raspberry Pi has become a mainstay in education circles and Maker projects. At this entry-level workshop, participants will learn the basics of writing code for Raspberry Pi using the Python programming language. Python scripts are used by the Raspberry Pi to control various peripherals (LED’s, sensors, cameras, etc.), which are then used to create projects that connect to the physical world. On Wednesday, July 18th, participants will take a field trip to Regis University for a campus tour. We’re excited to offer this exciting workshop to our Summer STEAM camp lineup.

Workshop only: $175 per participant
Workship with Raspberry Pi kit: $225
***Purchase of Raspberry Pi is not required***
