For my final project I’m
building a hotel/house using Sketch up and scale models.
First of all is the energy efficiency to power the building. I was thinking of solar panels to the south side of the building and solar windows on all sides of the building.
Also, I am going to put wind turbines on the north side of the building so it can get even more energy, because there is not much sun to the north. The panels are to the south and the east and west because those three sides have more sunlight than the north.
Next there are 17 floors: the top two floors are my house; the 15 above the ground floor are hotel rooms. The ground floor has the check in/out desk, the pool, the basketball, tennis and volley ball courts, the soccer field, and the track for runners. Plus, the ground floor has a dining room where guests go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's a theatre for entertainment where plays go on and bands, orchestras, and choirs perform.
That is the use for all of the floors.
Lastly, let’s talk about the way that this hotel will run.The employees include chefs; bell hops, maids and butlers, life guards, coaches and help desk workers. Overall, this is the building I’m designing for my final project and how it will work.
