The small intestine is part of the Digestive System. It is located below the stomach in the torso of our body. It is surrounded by the large intestine. It is bigger than the large intestine and looks like a roll of sausage. The small intestine grows up to 20-22 feet long. It absorbs nutrients, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates. You need it because the body needs energy. As you can see, the small intestine is very important to the Digestive System.
